Meeting of BulАtom with the management of PetroVietnam

On October 23, Mr. Bogomil Manchev, in his capacity as Chairman of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Atomic Forum, met and talked with a delegation led by Dr. Le Mans Hung – Chairman of the Board of Directors of the second largest company in Vietnam – PetroVietnam.

The meeting was initiated at the request of the management of PetroVietnam and was also attended by Mr. Stanislav Georgiev – Executive Secretary of the Association, on behalf of BulАtom.

During the meeting, Mr. Manchev acquainted the representatives of PetroVietnam with the activities and main goals of Bulatom, with the state and operation of the Bulgarian electricity system and in particular with Kozloduy NPP. He did not fail to inform them about Bulgaria’s plans and activities for the construction of new nuclear capacities – the project for the construction of units 7 and 8 at the site of Kozloduy NPP. Mr. Manchev presented to Dr. Le Man Hung two copies of the Bulgarian Nuclear Industry Almanac 2025, which Bulatom periodically publishes.

For his part, Mr. Le Mans Hung presented Vietnam’s intention to resume its plans for the development of nuclear energy and the construction of nuclear facilities in order to ensure energy security and support the country’s economic growth.
In this regard, Dr. Le Mans Hung as well as members of the delegation asked questions related to the choice of nuclear technologies. They asked about Bulgarian companies with which they could implement their intentions, as well as about the ways to finance such projects, etc.

Mr. Manchev answered in detail the questions posed, emphasizing the extensive experience that Bulgarian companies have in the implementation of projects in the nuclear field. He also stressed that more information can be found about the experience of Bulgarian companies in the Almanac of BulАtom for 2025 presented to them.

In conclusion, Mr. Manchev took the opportunity to invite Dr. Le Mans Hung and the management of PetroVietnam to take part in the traditional conference of BulАtom in 2026.
