BulAtom held a third consecutive meeting with students
The meeting was held on November 6 in Vratsa, where about 80 students with expressed interests in the field of physics and mathematics from different schools in the city came to the hall of the Regional Department of Education (RDE) Vratsa.
In addition to the warm welcome and excellent organization, we were also surprised by the great interest of the local media that covered the meeting.
The Head of the Regional Education Department in Vratsa, Loleta Koleva, opened the meeting and emphasized that it is “aimed at the future of young people, because of the decisions taken for the construction of new facilities at Kozloduy NPP, it is important to prepare professionals who will realize themselves here and work in the field of nuclear energy”, and that “the goal of the organizers is to provoke the interest of students and their desire to receive education in universities and specialties, related to nuclear energy“.
After the presentations given by our lecturers: Stanimir Kalburov about the scholarship programs, as well as the working conditions provided by the Kozloduy NPP and Assoc. Dr. Eng. Denitsa Zgureva from Department of Thermal and Nuclear Power Engineering at the Technical University of Sofia about the training programs in the department and the opportunities for realization of the students at the completion of their studies, the meeting continued in an interesting and lengthy discussion.
Some of the interesting questions asked by the students were: “What inspired you to work as a nuclear operator?”, “How many students does TU Sofia accept in the specialty “Heat and nuclear power engineering?”, “Does nuclear fusion have a future?”, ” Will Units VII and VIII of Kozloduy NPP be able to replace the thermal power plants?” to all of them they received comprehensive answers.
The most active students received small prizes, and BulAtom and Kozloduy NPP provided advertising materials for all participants in the meeting.
