BulAtom participates in NPPES 2025
In the period July 1 – 2, the 11th Nuclear Power Plant Exhibition and Summit (NPPES) was held at the Hilton Bomonti Conference Center in Istanbul, organized by the Nuclear Industry Association of Turkey (NIATR) and the Ankara Chamber of Industry with the support of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. At the invitation of NIATR, Petar Manchev and Stanislav Georgiev took part in it as representatives of BulАtom.
According to the organizers, 212 companies and 1,400 representatives of the nuclear sector took part in the event. The summit was attended by high-level participants from Russia, China, South Korea, France, Germany, England, Slovenia, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania and the Czech Republic, which are leading nuclear technology countries around the world.
On the second day of the event, at an official ceremony, the Nuclear Industry Association (NRA) and the Bulgarian Atomic Forum (BULATOM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of nuclear energy. The event received a great response and was widely covered in the Turkish media. On behalf of Bulatom, the Memorandum was signed by Mr. Petar Manchev, member of the Management Board, and on behalf of AYAI by its President, Mr. Alikan Ciftchi.
This agreement between the leading organizations in the field of nuclear energy of Turkey and Bulgaria aims to share knowledge and experience, technical cooperation and implement joint projects in the field of education, human resource development and technology sharing.
Later that day, Petar Manchev took part as a lecturer in Session V: Nuclear Innovation-Advancements in SMRs and Advanced Reactors, Microreactors to Drive the Future. In his presentation, he introduced those present to the activities, goals and mission of Bulatom, to the Position of the association and the priorities formulated therein for the development of nuclear energy in our country, to the Nuclear Program of Bulgaria and the plans for the implementation of the MMP.
According to Petar Manchev, Bulatom’s participation in the Nuclear Power Plants Exhibition and Summit – NPPES and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nuclear Industry Association of Turkey “are an opportunity for us to take concrete steps in the development of joint projects, we can create models that will serve as an example not only for our countries, but also for neighboring ones.”
