Bulatom Signs Letter of Intent for Cooperation with GIFEN
At the initiative of the “Group of French Nuclear Energy Industrialists (GIFEN),” the Bulgarian Atomic Forum (Bulatom) has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for cooperation with the organization. The signing ceremony was held online. The document was signed by Bogomil Manchev, Chairman of the Management Board of Bulatom, and by Olivier Bard, CEO of GIFEN
The Memorandum of Cooperation is based on the Bulgarian-French Intergovernmental Declaration of Intent signed on 21 February 2024, as well as on the long-standing partnership between the Republic of Bulgaria and the French Republic in the field of nuclear energy. This cooperation has been developing for decades and is guided by shared objectives supported by consistent and ambitious energy policies.
In the document, Bulatom and GIFEN express their intention to explore opportunities to support the energy transition, to advance safe and efficient technologies, and to strengthen global nuclear security. The two organizations will also work to enhance cooperation in the area of international development within the nuclear industrial sectors of Bulgaria and France.
The letter outlines their readiness to exchange information, explore mechanisms for strengthening mutually beneficial relations, encourage dialogue, and organize events between industrial sectors in both countries. The focus is placed on the development of economic applications of nuclear energy, the promotion of its safe use for peaceful purposes, and the expansion of international activities.
Bulatom expresses confidence that the cooperation with GIFEN will be fruitful not only for both organizations but also for the advancement of nuclear energy in Bulgaria and France.
Bulatom already has signed memoranda of cooperation with the Nuclear Industry Association of Turkey, Romatom, and the Ukrainian Nuclear Forum.
